I'm 24 and recently discovered that I have a dermoid tumor on my right ovary . I have been referred to a specailist, there is also a fibroid. My aunt passed away from ovarian cancer and my mom had cervical cancer, what are mt chances of having children , if any?
I was diagnosed with a dermoid tumor on my left ovary 2/02, had surgery 3/02 (was too large to be removed laproscopic) and my son was born 5/03! He will be 7 months old tomorrow. I started trying to get pregnant 7/02 b/c I was scared that I would not be able to or that I would develop a dermoid on the right ovary. I got pregnant 3 months later. Everything is fine after the ovary and fallopian tube is removed. My OB/GYN assured me that you are able to have children with one ovary. I felt better than I have in a long time after "the bad" ovary was removed. I still get a worried that I will get another dermoid. VERY PAINFUL and I worry that I may not see the signs before it is too late, like I did before. I hope this helps! Good luck. Let me know how it all works out for you!

There are alternatives girl and you are not alone I am dealing with the same problem.... Fibroid Tumors. I am taking something at this time that is meant to dissolve the tumor mass I will keep you posted on the results.
i just found out i had a dermoid tumor on my left ovary.. i knew i had pain for quite some time now but finally doing something about it i am having my left ovary and tube removed i have 6 children so it is not a concern i am just wondering how painfull is this going to be and how long before i can resume my duties as mom again...
I found out I have a 3cm dermiod tumor on the left ovary, I was wondering if anyone knows do I have to have it removed or since it's not that big is it possible to leave it alone?
I'm a soon-to-be 40-yr old that was just diagnosed with a demroid tumor on my right ovary. My gynecologist also suspects that I am premenopausal which, of course, is very scary news. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last summer just days after getting married. My thyroid was removed in August 07 and I had a fairly high dose of radioactive iodine shortly thereafter. If anyone has had a similiar experience please let me know if there is light at the end of the tunnel. I don't have children and my intention was to attempt to get pregnant after I got the 'all clear' from my endocrinologist. The news received today has put quite a damper over things.
