There is something called Ovarian Remnant Syndrome. If just one small ovarian cell is left behind at the time of surgery, a remnant can develop.
I have a cyst that they believe is caused by an ovarian remnant. The only way to know for certain is to have surgery to remove the cyst and sample the tissue to see if it is ovarian nature. For me that would be third surgery and right now that is not in the plans.
There is another woman, Fungirl (Kasie) that has had a couple of surgeries because of Ovarian Remnants, I am sure that she will be along soon to tell you of her tail.
