ovarion cancer

i get my period once every year.I went into the gyno and he said i have to get a t-vag and they have to check my blood.
i looked on the internet what a t-vag ultrasound is and it searches for ovarion cancer. im soo scared to go on tuesday because im scared of the results. im only 17 i dont want to suffer from cancer like my father did!!
so my question is since im 17, what chances is it that it's cancer?

At your age irreguar periods are very common. Trans-vag ultra-sounds are used for alot more that looking for cancer. I am sure you will be fine. Just take care and follow-up with your doc. Marie

The chance u have OVCA is very very low. so don't worry too much, but it is important to find out what was the cause of irregular period. most likely is hormol problems which can be found out form blood test, or cyst which can be detected from TVS. Your dr is heading the right direction for solving the problem.  Best wish!

Kelly,
You'll be okay. Don't stress yourself out too much until you've had the test.  Stay calm and talk to your mother and doctors...
