pain in lower abdomen

by kookoos27, Oct 15, 2009 09:21PM
I have had 3 pregnancies, miscarried 1. I am 35 and my children are now 12 and 6. I have had very bad periods growing up and i ended up getting some fibroid tumors and had an endometrial ablasion done a few years ago. It only helped for a year and the periods were getting worse again, but my blood levels are fine, just the cramping and clotting and bleeding get real bad and they are always different in length of time. My doctor tried to do another one and said she did the D&C but couldnt do the ablasion cuz there was too much scar tissue to do the ablasion again. I can not take BC cuz of our family history of high blood pressure and heart disease and insurance doesnt cover IUD. My gyno is reluctant to do a partial, and ive been just waiting it out and taking pain pills ALOT.. For now about the past 4-5 months the pain in my lower abdomen area is getting worse and doesnt only feel like to be in my uterus area, sometimes when i go to the bathroom(both) it hurts in my abdomen area when I release. And at times down just above the pelvic area it seems to tighten and will sometimes tighten up about 4 inches above that. I am more concerned if there could be a tumor or something resting on all my organs and its bothering all of them. Now im not sure if i should see my primary or my gyno, sometimes i think she feels i may be overreacting, Please help any info of any other similiar cases might help..
Thankyou

Hi There
if you have pain and abnormal bleeding, you should see your doctor. There are times when removing the uterus and the ovaries is the most helpful intervention. I agree with your doctor that we always try nonoperative interventions first.
best wishes

I did follow through with my family doctor cuz the pain was just unbearable and it was everywhere, hurt under my ribs when I breathed and all the time. She ordered ultrasounds of my uterus, and they did find what looks to be a 5 inch cyst on my right ovary and looks like the endometris spread out of the uterus and attached to that cyst. So now I am just waiting for them to schedule the surgery to remove and test that ovary and my lymph nodes and also take out my cervix and uterus.
Thankyou for your help!!

PLS EXPLAIN.....

I have may pelvis ultrasound done last October 24,2009. As per findings, septated cystic masses with low level internal echoes are detected in the retrouterine regions measuring 5.58x4.85x6.06 and 8.7x6.24x4.94cm with the former extending to the left adnexa and the latter extending to right adnexa. Both ovaries are not identified.

Impressions: Retrouterine cystic masses as described extending to the bilateral adnexal regions: endometrial versus ovarian origin.
Normal ultrasound of the uterus.
Normal ultrasound of the urinary bladder.
