post menopausal cyst

by mudlakemama, Sep 15, 2004 12:00AM
I am 49 and menopausal.  After 2 episodes of post menopausal bleeding, pelvic/gastronintestinal discomfort, and nausea, an ultrasound (pelvic and transvag) revealed a simple cyst.  My family physician feels that it is safe to wait for a couple of months seeing as the cyst is 2.5cm.  However, had the cyst been 3cm or greater he would have referred me to the gyn/oncologist immediately to have it evaluated.  Does 1/2 of a centimeter really provide that much cushion?  Should I seek any other opinions?

Thank you for any info you can provide.
