scary symptoms

I have had menstral problems since I first got my period at 13.
Always had bad cramps and bad PMS symptoms.
3 years ago I had a ultrasound done and they fount a 3 cm cyst on my left ovary. A year later it was still there. A year after that it is now 4 cm. They say it is a "simple cyst", but it hasn't gone away.
I feel sick all the time, I feel a pressure on my left side where the cyst is. (No pain though).
I just feel awful and I don't know what to do. I also have swollen glands on my left side of my groin (bikini line).
Is it normal for a cyst to hang around for this long?
I can't take the birth control pills because they make me extremely sick.
What should I do?

I just thought I would add that I am 34 years old and have never had any children.
My main concern is the nausea that I experience all the time, most before my period.
