second line chemo failing

second line chemo failing

I last posted in Feb. 04. Dx St1aG3 and had TAH,omentectomy,BSO, lymph node dissection 09/03. Had 7 rounds Taxol/carbo with CA125 lowest point 46.3. Started Doxil and have had 3 rounds with CA125 down to 40.1 after #2, then 46, now 70.6 after 3rd tx. I have never been in remission. CT scan Jan. 04 was"clean" but at pelvic exm by gyn onc in June and then last week, I was told I have "tumors on my pelvic floor"
although at the July exam the "tumors were less prominent".
My gyn-onc said tumors are millimeter size, but could not give me a number as to how many and also said "this is not a surgical issue". He said we will continue Doxil. I'm having port insertion on 7/27, then Doxil chemo on 7/28. I am at a loss for what to do, although the gyn-onc's recommendations seem right according to what I've read. Does it seem reasonable to continue with the Doxil, should I look for a clinical trial, another gyn-onc? I seem to be resistant to everything thus far.
I was so thankful that my OVCA was found early, but understand that the tumor grade is just as significant to response.
I had my surgery at a major teaching hospital 5 hrs from my home and chose to see the ONLY GYN-ONC in my home state, since traveling 5 hrs for chemo seemed to be too burdensome. Sorry for rambling. Thanks for your input and this wonderful service.
By the way, I had mentioned in my Feb. post that I am Type I DM and had foot infection, which is now somewhat better.
