sertoli leydig-chance of coming back?

sertoli leydig-chance of coming back?

I recently had a large stage one,  low malignant potential sertoli leydig tumor removed, along with one ovary and ane fallopian tube, how likely is it to reoccur on the other ovary?

I just registered with the website and was looking for someone with sertoli leydig, and noticed there were no comments.  Did you ever get an answer?  I am to about to have surgery to remove my right ovary which is suspected to have a sertoli leydig cell tumor.

No, I never got an answer back.  I have to have ultrasounds every four monthes for the first two years, then the usual once a year check up.  I have on on march 24th.  I hope the wieght I have gained is just because I lost so much during the surgury, and not because I have a new cyst on the other ovary.  Good luck with your surgury, let me know if you hear anything about how likly it is for reoccurance.  Was your cyst large, how did you know you had it?  Mine was 9 inches by 8 inches, and three inches deep, so I looked pregnant, even though I knew I was not, so I went in for a long over due gyno appt.  They did not know mine was a seritoli leydig one until after they removed it and ran tests.  I guess it is one of the more rare cysts.  I didn not have any of the other symptoms of it, other than the enlarged abdomen.

4 weeks ago, I had a complete hysterectomy, but the mass on my right ovary was a Sertoli Leydig cell tumor. The doctor told me that I had a 10% chance of the tumor reoccuring somewhere else in my abdomine in the next 10 years. I will under going testing every 6 months for years to check to see if it returns.

i had my right ovary removed due to a Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor last year too, but they knew exactly what it was before the surgery. they told me that it was pretty much impossible for it to come back. how long did it take you all for the symptoms to go away?

I was at age 22 when my right ovary removed because of sertoli leydig cell tumour. I try to have my 6 month check-up, but mostly I postpone it. Does anyone know anybody who has a baby though her ovary had been removed?

I have had several friends who have had children with only one ovary. GL. Happy New Year.

I've never heard of recurrence if the affected ovary has been removed. It is important to note, however, that the tumor can grow back if the ovary is NOT removed. I had a mass removed and MRI showed it started to grow back to 2 cm in just 6 weeks! I then had a salpingo-oopherectomy.

I've had several pregnancies, but no baby :( I had an ectopic, which MIGHT be due to scar tissue after my abdominal procedures. We're now thinking about IVF.

I'm curious to hear other women's stories about how they dealt with Sertoli-Leydic cell tumors.

:)
