severe pain and cramping in inner thighs and calves

by meshe816, Jul 07, 2009 11:04PM
I had a hysterectomy after several bad paps this was over 10 years ago. I am now experiencing some of the same syptoms (symptoms) I had experienced before. I do believe I was left with my ovaries. I am experiencing severe cramps in both my inner thighs and calves at night while I am asleep and it takes litterally 30 minutes to get it to release. I am also having a feeling of heaviness in my lower ab area. I am a 46 year old female. Have not went to the doctor yet and am feeling very fatigued but was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia and entrimetriosis while I was less than 39 years old but have not had treatment since losing insurance 12 years ago. Should I go to a ob gyn or a family physician?

Definitely the gyn/onc since they are most likely to be able to rule cancer out, and best know what is needed for follow-up.  My gyn/onc even told me that he serves as primary care physician for many of his patients, even those who are in long term remission.
