Hi,
You'll probably get this after your surgery, bu I wanted to say Good Luck. I had my gallbladder removed in 2003. The recovery from that was only 2 weeks total. Needless to say, I haven't had any gallbladder attacks since. :) The pain from the attacks was worse than the pain after the surgery.
I also had a hysterectomy in 2001, and my right ovary removed. That pain wasn't so bad. Just do what the doctor tells you to do, and I agree with the "Hug Me" pillow. I used one for both my gallbladder and hysterectomy, the hospital made me pillows to hug when I coughed and laughed.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
My surgery is on May 21, so I know how you feel with waiting. I don't even know what type of surgery, or what they will find until I wake up. It's my left ovary and they are not sure if the mass on it is malignant or not until they go in and look.
Good Luck, your in my prayers!
Larain
Thanks for all the words of encouragement .....it means alot to me. Today for some reason I am having a rough time...took a xanax...but I am so scared...the rational part of me knows that everything is going to be ok and the irrational side thinks differently..I keep telling myself there are no choices here and just get it over with. I am grateful for all the wonderful people I have been blessed to meet on here and will keep everyone posted. Thanks for listening.
My best wishes to you. Is your gallbladder still giving you trouble? I know someone that had put it off and their gallbladder then was fine. This was a rare incidence though.
Just know that in the end this will be a piece of cake in comparison to all of us ovarian surviving survivors. I always feel it is best when I think of worse situations than my situation. Such was a story in the Reader's Digest of poor parents that had backed over their child with their SUVs. How horrid, it made me cry. I would rather any day have this cancer than to have had to experience that.
I will pray for you with comfort and bravery and most of all that there is absolutely no cancer there. As I remember yours is a cyst with no elevated CA125?
Be well,
Helen
Sorry I meant for that comment to go to you. :)
Hang in there. I have had my gallbladder removed and it was okay. I know that is the lesser of two evils in this case. The gallbladder thing could be a good thing since you will feel much better once it's out! I went for 3 years of ER trips and painful weeks in the hospital trying to put it off, but in the end it was much better after I had it out. Blessings to you on Monday!
thanks and you are so right...when we think of others facing different tragedies we are not as bad as some others..mine are 2 bilateral masses aournd 12 and 10 cm with an elevated ca-125 of 44. dr believes they are possible endometriomas. they also recommended gallblader removal even though thank god I have no pain but many stones. thanks for everything and your words of support.
Just wanted to say good luck on your surgery. I know how the waiting can be. Just keep taking your zanax. I was on ativan before my surgery and it helped me alot with the anxiety. Just keep telling yourself that next week at this time it will be over with and you will be on the road to recovery. Believe me when I say that the waiting and worrying about the surgery is the worst part. I had bilateral ovarian cysts which were endometriomas. I made myself sick with worry and when it was over I was mad at myself for all the suffering I put myself (and my husband) thru. I had a complete abdominal hysterctomy and I can say that I have never felt better in my life. Yes, you will be sore when you wake but once the pain medicine kicks in you will be fine. Again, good luck!
I've been checking the post to see how you are doing...glad you're taking something for your nerves. I'll be here waiting for you along with the other Cysters! God Bless and Hugs! :)
