surgery pending

surgery pending

I have had another recurrence of OC and been on Norco daily (and valium and ambien for sleep, soma sometimes) for over six months. It (norco) has stopped working for over two months now and I no longer sleep through the night due to pain. I am scared they will not manage my pain after surgery. 2 norco every four hours will NOT do it and I have a full laporotomy planned and a 6 day stay.
How will they manage my pain? and what should I ask for. If 10-14 norco a day won't do it now what will they give me in the hospital? I am TERRIBLY afraid of being in agony. Nobody seems to listen to me in the hospital. I have been in the hospital three times and if it's not on the "orders" the nurses can't help you or won't. What do I tell my oncologist and the anesteiologist? and do I have worry of waking up during surgery due to being on so many drugs?
At this point I don't know if I have it in me to even keep fighting I'm so miserable all the time. I just want the pain to stop.
Thank you for taking time to answer.
