Food smells so good and I just can't seem to eat. I woke up the evening with extreme nausea. My abdomen continue to swell and increasingly uncomfortable to even sit up at the computer to type. How do symptoms usually start (sudden or gradually).  I have had abdominal problems for about a year but the symptoms were easy to ignore. now they are so bad I waddle when I walk like I am pregnant. I am nervous about going to the Md and feeling stupid if nothing is wrong. I have been blown off so many times I am just getting used to it.  The Bactrim for the UTI is not helping yet, but I have only been on it for three days today is the fourth.  How long til I see a decrease in abdominal girth?

Hi: I dont know much about OC at all, but I do know the swelling in your abdomen is a concern, I
just cant believe how these drs. are blowing you off!!  Are they telling you you just gained weight?

Please keep posting.... BTW, I gained an awful lot of "belly" for lack of a true word or reason, but
I dont know why.  I was always thin and this was after the birth of my daughter at 41, I'am 45.

                                                                             Sincerely,
                                                                             Denise (georgie439)

I wanted to let you know I ahve been to my primary, employee health at work and the E.R, E.R said I have a UTI and that was causing all my symptoms, I never new a UTI could cause so much grief. Can't wait for the antibiotics to kick in.  Thank you for your concern I sent you a personal email, I am going to make an ob gyn appointment this morning, I haven't been to the OB since my daughter was born 6 yrs ago.  Thanks again!!!!

You need to go see a GYN or head to the ER. I don't want to scare you but time is important when dealing with your symptoms. Don't let them tell you nothing is wrong. Find someone who will listen and give you the proper care. Never feel stupid for being an advocate for your health, it's your body!
