topotecan and hair lose

I am 4 months out from my last carbo/taxol and just getting my hair back.  After a rise in my CA125 to the 700s I have just started on topotecan and thalidomide.  Just wondering if I am going to loose the hair again?  Anybody have any experience with this drug?

So glad to see you back and with good news too!  I haven't been posting much recently so may not have seen your earlier posts - my cisplatin/etoposide regime has really knocked me for six - had to have a bit longer between the 1st and 2nd cycles to get my neuts to recover - just started back today.  It does appear to be working also tho' thank goodness.  Cheers Jenny

I only had two 'shots' of Topotecan because it wasn't working for me, but no hair loss at all. We are all different in how we manage these drugs though.
Wishing you all the best, and hope it works well for you.... Helmar..

While I have'nt had personal experience with this treatment, I suggest you look at www.cancerbackup.org.  Use the search engine.  This gives a very comprehensive list of all the side effects.  I'm sorry to say that you may get hair loss or it may just thin.  And please bear in mind that reading the side effects of drugs can be suggestive to such an extent that you feel you are having the symptoms.  MOST people using the therapy will NOT have the side effects listed.

I wish you all the very best for a successful outcome in your new treatment.
