treatments for recurrent disease - using genetics/ aspirin, what else??

Friend of mine has had her second re-occurance after initial stage3a. First time after taxol/ carbo, she was out 20 months. the second time after taxol/ carbo, only 3 months. She has used a lot of complementary therapies. and We are looking for ways to beat the odds (of course!).
Can any genetic or other screening be done to help select the most active chemo? Would she be eligable for any of the new genetic treaments or trials?
Why would the cancer stay gone for so long the first time, and so short the second time??

How much aspirin is needed to have an anti- cancer affect?
