Hi Holly, how are you? We are in the same boat! I was diagnosed with a cyst on my ovary 2 years ago. I have not had any trouble until recently. I started having pain in my left side. They confirmed it was fibroids but did not say anything about the ovary. My Ca 125 test came back elevated however alot of people have told me on this forum that I should not worry about that. I am going to my regular doctor to get  a referrral to another OBGYN for a second opinion. I do not want a hysterectomy unless I absolutely need one. I wish you the best and try not to worry. You are not alone, there are lots of us with the same or similiar health issues. I will pray for you.

Hi there.  First, relax.  Over 95% of all cysts (doctors will use the terms mass, cyst and tumour interchangeably) are benign.  They can increase in size quickly.  Did the doctor indicate what type of cyst it is?  Once you know take a look at the health pages (top right) associated with this and the ovarian cyst forum (your posting may get moved to there by MedHelp).  The waiting and wondering can be very stressful.  Try and relax and find something to take your mind off it as you await your follow up.  Do come on the cyst forum and ask any questions and please do give us an update when you hear.
