type of surgery

I had my uterus removed in 93 and now I have a large cyst on each ovary. my question is has any one had ovarian surgery with the epidural instead of general anesthesia. They don't want to intibat me because I have pulmonary hypertension. The Dr said they would have to do approx. 4-5 inch cut. If anyone has had this done that way please advise me how it went for them. I'm worried really right after the surgery about it hurting. thanks for any help.

Bear in mind that a 4 to 5 inch cut is smaller than the incision required for a c-section birth, and all the women I've known who had c-sections had only epidural anesthesia.

Also, you will have access to post-surgery pain medication.  In the hospital, you will likely have self-dosed pain medication through your IV.  You will also have prescriptions for pain medications that you can take at home.

I'm so glad to hear this I had nothing to compare it to. If it was good for you guys then it's good for me. I feel better about the surgery now. As for when it is my GYN is waiting for the approval letter from my lung Dr. So I should know something next week. Thanks to the both of you.
