I too found that the pain seemed to ease up along with the side effects from the chemo. But my pain from the neulasta was not extreme and only lasted a few days.

I personally found that the constant pain I was having subsided over time. In the beginning it was dreadful but now it is only periodic. And doesn't last all that long. My onco said that, that is quiet often the case for most people. So, hopefully it will be the same for you. Good luck on Wednesday (same day I go in)   :-)

To all of you thank you so much for the comments back, no OC does not run in my family everything else does example, Diabetes, high blood pressure etc... i am the only one that has this disease, i have not had that many problems with it until this i am also on a trial drug as well so they couldn't put me on Nuelasta right away to begin with if not for that i could have already been on it. i go on this with my next treatment which is the end of this month so wish me luck and please everyone keep in touch i enjoy hearing from other people who have gone through what i am going through right  now.

I did not have too much of a problem with the Neulasta and I began receiving it after my second treatment. I had to go back the next day for it. I did have some mild bone pain in my legs, but nothing major. When I received Neupogen late last year, that stuff made me feel terrible. I had to bring home self injections of it twice and 3 days in a row of it on top of the gemzar, hit me like a train wreck. Hopefully you will do just fine with it

I had Nuepogen before they had Nuelasta and that was really bad with enough pain that I resorted to codeine.  The Nuelasta for me has been like nothing compared to the Nuepogen.  There are some aches and bone pain, but for me it hasn't been that terrible -- just a couple days of discomfort.  Tylenol helped -- if you are not on Doxil, then hot baths or showers also help --- try to avoid the N-saids (like ibuprofen and aleve) because it affects the way your platelets work -- too bad they took Bextra off the market -- I used that in 2003 and it worked wonders.......If the pain gets bad ask for tylenol w/codeine -- percoset always was too scary for me -- I'm anti narcotic as my mom got addicted to oxycontin when on chemo and my brother did also with his back pain.
Don't look for or expect bad side effects, you might end up bringing them on psychologically -- it happens sometimes.......just go with the flow and see what happens -- at least your chemo will stay on trac
Good luck too you

I was on neupogen for two cycles and then on neulasta. The neulasta was, for me, better. Much less bone pain. With neupogen, I was taking precription pain meds at night. I just take tylenol and try to keep ahead of the pain. It also didn't last nearly as long. Had my last neulasta shot an hour ago. (God willing the chemo got all the cancer and no recrrence.)

I totally concur with msjazz. I had neulasta and I felt bone pain for a couple of days but my WBC never dropped significantly low. A soak in a hot tub does wonders for the old bones.

I do my own, which is neupogen. I have to take 3 of those for 3 days. It is basically the same, bone pain, it is worse at night for me. I take percocet, and before I got on doxil. had a king size heating pad i would put on low, with an auto turn off. Also got in the whirlpool tub, but you can't get any unhealed incisions or port in a tub, so you have to be careful. Just have something for pain, mine usually eases up after a day or two.
