I agree it is quite common. My worst times are when I start coughing very hard (and believe me i have done more than my share of that this winter) or when I sneeze. I have practiced the Kegal in the past but I think that it is time that i started again.
My mom recently had a hysterectomy and has been complaining of the same thing. My sister has even mentioned it before. So I guess that it is more common than we think.

I'm only 32 and no pregnancies and I am just starting to get back on top of this myself after my surgery last April. I had invasive implants on my bladder wall and they spent a fair time cleaning up other deposits around my bladder and bits around there which iritated everything. On top of that the surgery itself can also cut through nerves etc so you don't have the same nerve feedback.
I agree do the Kegel. I found it quite strange to do for the first 6months as I didn't actually have much sensation for quite a long time (from belly button down) so couldn't really 'feel' me doing the exercises. But I did it anyway and it has been working wonders with less issues with incontinence. There are quite a range of exercises you can do to work on different parts of your pelvic floor so have a look at available books etc and find ones that you like that work.

I vote for the Kegel route also.  Right before I was diagnosed I had that problem and my Dr recommended the exercises over meds and it worked great.  Easiest exercise in the world to do to.  LOL  I know it is no fun.  Aside from that problem, I got a fissure in my bladder during my surgery and had to have a catheter for 3 months.  Now, that is a problem that is not easily remedied, but this is.  If the exercises don't work for you there is always meds, but if it isn't really bad it should work.  Good luck.

One of my duties on the Alzheimers unit where I worked was to lead a Kegel exercise group to decrease incontinence on the unit. Imagine trying to exlpain what to do in that populationof women and a couple of men. We had fun, but how many did it right? We'll  never know. Marie

Kegel, kegel, kegel...have to build up those muscles.  I have noticed (and I am almost 4 years out from surgery) that I have the drips lately....and when I have to go, I have to go, there is no waiting!!!!

If it continues speak to your doctor...and on this forum, no need to be embarrassed of anything.

Both of my daughters have this problem. One is 17 and the other 27. I only had trouble a day or so before my ovca was found, no trouble since surgery. It is very common. Certain bladder irritants can make it worse, like grapefruit, artificial sweeteners and caffeine. If it keeps up ask the doc for help. My oldest daughter has had 3 kids and is now pregnant. That has caused her trouble. Robin has no medical history that should give her bladder trouble. Kegel exercises are recommended, but my girls think that is too weird for them.Good luck. Marie
