why do i keep bleeding?

by kimberleybrookes, Oct 17, 2009 02:50PM
hi there, i really do need to talk to someone. i am 23 years old. i have got a son aged 2 who was born on the 24 october 2006, he was born at 27 weeks, and i had lots of tests done before i had him and there was no reason they give me for this.
any way i went on the pill after i had him and come off it at the start of this year in jan, becuase i wanted another baby. i didnt come on for 5 months then all of a sudden i hat a period it started off real light, with the brown stuff there first then about a week after come the blood had that for about 2 weeks not heavy just light but all in all it lasted about 1 month. then 4 the next few weeks just had stoping on and off on and off. now this month i come one not very heavy just normal for me, but its been going on for about 3 weeks now i went to the doctors and they give me a pill to stop it, the doctor said i have to go for a scan to see if it is polycystic ovaries, but i am really really really scared that to might be cancer i cant sleep at night thinking about it i am sooooooo scared, should i be?
what do you think it could be?
thanks kimberley

Hi there
I completely agree with Corky. Thank you Corky!!

You have not been ovulating since you came off the pill and you have developed a build up of the lining of the inside of the uterus. It is now shedding. You should definately see your gyn. Usually this sorts out withtime. But if you are not reularly ovulating, youmay need haelp getting pregnant.

hi....I am sure the doctor will respond to you soon. I just wanted to say hi and also let you know what I have been told in the past. From what I understand it is common to have irregular periods after coming off the pill. It can take several months to normalize. I am not sure if that is what is going on, but I am having the same issue. I stoped using the nuvaring back in March and I am still having issues. I am not sure if it is due to the hormones being messed up, but it could be. Has your doctor done any testing besides the upcoming scan? I hope you feel better soon.
Take care, Corky
