worried about my future

I'm 21 years old and was recently told that I have a complex cyst in my right ovary thats only 31/2 cm. Although compaired to others that may be small, but I've never experienced such bad pain before in my life. My dr to the ca-125 blood test last wednesday. I've noticed that the pain since than has been getting worse and worse, and today I ran my hand over the area that it was hurting, and you can actually feel a lump coming from my abdomen where my ovary lays, and I have never noticed this before. Is it possible for this cyst to grow so fast? And if so does that mean that there may be more of a chance that its cancerous? I know that this is a stupid question but I'm so scared I don't know what to do.
Thanks

I went to the doctor today and she said that the lump wasn't the ovary? Didn't make any sense to me at all, but she's filling in for my doctor who is out of town, so I will the actual doctor on Monday. Hopefully his explanation will make more sense. Thanks everyone. Will keep you posted.

A hard lump or knot just under the skin is commonly a lipoma, which is a fatty tumor.  A lipoma is typically benign.  I have several of them scattered about here and there.  They are small, however, about the size of a pea and they are not painful.   It  is also possible to develop cysts under the skin; sometimes these cysts must be removed and others will resolve on their own.   I developed a cyst on my arm after an injury.  The doctor suggested that we wait a few months to see if it resolved on its own and it did.

When I was 15yrs old I had a simple cyst in the same ovary and when they did lap surgery they went ahead and took out my appendix while they were in there. The Doctor didn't seem to elaborate on what it could be, she said it was the stress of the cyst??? I see my regular dr on monday, she's filling in for him. I'll ask him again, because theres a lump over the ovary and than, I wouldn't say a lump but a knot right underneath it, in the beginning of the crease in my leg. Any suggestions on what this may be?

She said it was not your ovary.  Did she say WHAT is was?  Do you have an inflamed appendix?

Well, I went to the doctor again today to schedule surgery, and he told me just that... it was a lipoma, but he said that it felt more swollen than anything. He's going to set up a surgery to remove the cyst and I think that the one on my left ovary ruptured today. Hurt, but I was relieved that it went away on its own. The blood test came back negative for everything, so just waiting for the surgery. THank you so much everyone, you've all been a great help!! I really appreciate it.

Ok everyone....just incase anyone would like an update I have one. This past thursday I had my surgery (finally)! And the results from after the surgery were way off from what the doctor though. It turns out that the cyst in my ovary was a simple cyst,...but looked complex on the ultra sound because there was blood around it. But it gets even better. My right ovary had somehow fused itself to the wall of my abdomen sometime between now and the last surgery I had..and adhesions or whatever they are called had made its way to my colon. So the doctor drained the cyst,...cleared the scar tissue and put a mesh lining behind the ovary so it doesn't attach itself to my abs again. I hope I relayed that back correctly. Oh and he was able to save my right ovary from coming out. So,...after a few days I'm up and rearing to go again. No wonder why I was in so much pain!

Hello.. I just thought i would let you all know i have had it bad.. Im 21 now and in 2003 i found out i had a 11cm cyist by my falopian tube and if it would of gotten any bigger it would of twisted my overie to where it would of became dead, so they went ahead and drained it , they said it was so big it was like a basketball.. In 2004 i went back for a check up, they recomended that i went in every 6 months for the next year or 2. So i started having really bad lower back pains and side pains to where it wasnt comfy driving, sleeping or having intercourse.. I went back and my doctor found out that i had another cysit that was 8cm but this one was behind my uterus and it was leaking. So once again he went in and drained.. I just recently went to the doctor for the same pains and he said there was nothing there but i had a knot and so he sent me to get an ultrasound.. Its been about a month ago and im still waiting for my results. But the ultrasound doctor said i DID have another cyist but it poped and now i have the fluid just sitting in there.. That cant be good right?

Hi ladies
I am glad to hear you all are getting well, not to scare you at all, but please make sure you go to all your checkups and any little pain dont disregard, just getting it checked out.  I am now 38 yrs old but started having problems when I was 25 and had my first cyst drained which was more than a two little bottle of coke.... then couple of years later had another one drained pretty much the safe. forgot about my check ups and had a emergency operation when my left ovary taken out in 2002 and yet again ladies though all was well now didnt get my regual check as I should have, it cam back with a vengence and this time to the right one , but had  a small malignant cancer in there too.  They had no option but to give me a fully hysto so now will definately be keeping up with regual check ups just in case it comes back anywhere else.  Dont have nightmare, just get ur  usual check ups.......
