Not to be discouraging but aren't CA125 tests a bit unpredictable? I thought the numbers could be elevated due to other things as well. Does her doctor know about your history? Is there some other testing they can do?

Given your history, it can't hurt for her to have the test; however, SimplyStar is right,  pap smears don't detect ovarian cancer. Abmnormal pap smears might, big might, indicate  cervical cancer and endometrial cancer. The doctor should do an endometrial biopsy. I had to have 2 of them before I ended up with my hysterectomy. Both times, I was clear. So don't freak out, ok?? But have her tested both tests to be sure. Let us know!

Pap smears do not detect OVCA  but it still good to have them yearly.

Trust me, you are entitled, I was diagnosed Stage 1A, Clear Cell, I was 39 at the time, plus my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at age 40. (And I tested negative for the BRCA gene)  I have a 24 year old daughter.  I am terrified for her.  I can not stress enough to her to be so over cautious with her body and to make sure her doctors are on the ball.  Hey she might never be touched by this, but if she stays up on constant check ups, etc, she has alot better chance.  Abnormal paps are typically not that unusual, but again, her doctors need to know her family history, YES is it rare for someone of that age to get Ovarian Cancer, does it happen, sadly yes.  Hope "you" are doing well.  Take Care.  Jane
