3.4 cm adnexal cyst

Im 44 yrs old. My mother and grandmother had breast cancer.  For about the last 2 yrs Ive had "hormonal symptoms" and have been put on several different ones.  About a yr ago I went to a gyn dr. related to pain in my right lower side, esp with intercourse. I had a pelvic ultrasound, everything was ok. Two months ago, had another one, everything ok.  I went to a GI Dr. and with a ct of pelvic with contrast, they found a 3.4 cm adnexal cyst on believed to be my right ovary.  I have been getting to where I dont have many days that I feel good. Can anyone tell me what that means. I know Ive scheduled a ca-125. Im scared!!

Yes it is possible.  Check out the health pages (top right) for a list of symptoms.  I felt really sick when I had mine and after surgery was amazed at how good I felt.

Thanks!  Im just wondering why I have been feeling bad for at least 6 months. I did a saliva test, havent got the results back yet. I went  a yr without a period then now make to every month.  Last check my testosterone and progesterone levels were low.  I just havent felt myself in months. Im very antisocial, which Ive never been, not very nice and just feel sick to my stomach almost everyday. Everyone tells me I just dont look like I feel good and they are right. Im tired of feeling like this.  I also have extreme anxiety.  Do you think these could be symptoms of ovarian cyst?

It appears you have a cyst but they aren't identifying any solid components or septations.  These type generally resolve themselves each month but in this case yours has not.  Cysts can cause a variety of symptoms.  Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for more info on that.

Your doctor may wait another  cycle to see if it resolves or may look at removing it via laparoscopic surgery.  Don't be too worried on the CA-125.  It is not a very good indicator for women that are not post menopausal and can be positive if you have endometriosis or an infection.  Over 95% of all cysts are benign.  Good luck and please keep us posted.
