6.6 cm complex ovarian cyst with septum

Hi, I am a 47 year old female and my recent ultrasound showed a left 6.6 cm complex ovarian cyst with a thin septum [it grew nearly 4 cm in three months].  Seven months ago, I just had my right ovary/tube removed as well as a cyst from my left ovary [all benign].  Now here I am again facing the same situation, except this time they are classifying the cyst as "complex."  I had a CA125 test today and I am terrified!  I just want this growth out of my body NOW and I want the ovary/tube removed also because I keep getting these recurring cysts.  I know that most cysts are benign, but I am extremely nervous.  Also, once I remove my last ovary, what can I expect hormonal wise?  Can anyone suggest a good low-dose hormonal therapy?  Has anyone out there had a similiar situation with a positive outcome?

Thanks,
Jodi

I have a 4.4cm complex ovariam cyst with septum on right side. A folicular cyst on left side. Right side fallopian tube was previously removed due to ectopic. I keep getting cysts. I just want them out. This is the first time any have had a septum. I am 48 years old and premenopausal. Jody7347 how did your story progress since this last post? My follow up ultraound is on June 4th 2016 at which time we will discuss next steps. I have several cysts in my breasts that are being monitored, both sides and have had negative biopsies on both breasts, one in Feb of this year. My grandmother had breast cancer at 44, premenopausal.

I can totally understand how you feel.  When I had my cysts last year I couldn't wait to have that 'thing' out of my and because surgery is high risk for me I asked them to give me a total hysterectomy.  Unfortunately, because of adhesions, all of my internal organs are glued together and they didn't want to risk the hysterectomy.  Needless to say I now worry about additional cysts or surgeries.

When I had planned for the hysterectomy my gyn told me he'd put me on a hormone patch right after surgery.  Do talk to your doctor beforehand so you have a plan if you do want to go the hormone replacement path.  I've heard many of the women on here and on the hysterectomy forum mention huge benefits with bioidentical hormones.

Good luck and keep reminding yourself that over 95% of all cysts are benign.  Please let us know how it goes.
