Adhesians etc.

I'm to have surgery tomorrow for a 9cm pelvic mass (perhaps on top of uterus like Bearx2 but I just read about Trudie not having a hysterectomy because of previous surgeries etc. I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy years ago and PID, 3 years later, another ectopic pregnancy caught before it ruptured so I have no tubes.  It never occured to me that they wouldn't or couldn't take every thing out if it was "glued together".  Any comments?  How are you faring now, Trudie?  Foxtrot160

You are definately in my prayers...the doctors as well.

I am not a doctor but I can share with you what my doc told me when I asked about adhesions and scar tissue. I was worried about it so asked  her. She told me that it is genetic...you are either prone to it...or you are not. She said I did not even have any scar tissue a previous mini-lap so she felt comfortable that I would not be prone to problems with healing this time. So...I hope for your sake that you are not prone to it either.

Best of luck to you tomorrow. I hope to hear from you whenever you are able. God bless...Lynn

I'll say some prayers for you- hope you feel better soon.

I was trying the ball rolling thing- I think I was doing it correctly following the info on the health pages, but I have stopped as they found another cyst and I'm not sure it would be a good idea.

best wishes to all

Most definitely.  I would suggest you put that request in your mood so all will see.  My thoughts and prayers will definitely be with you and I hope you can rid yourself of it all.

Hugs, Trudie

Thanks, Trudie.

I hope everything works out for you, too.  I just feel that since I've made the decision to have everything else out, that's what I want done so that I won't have to have more surgeries etc., especially at my age.  Also,  the darn thing hurts!  I'll keep in touch and hope I have good news to post, especially for older ladies.  May I request prayers, please?

Hi there.  Mine was really bad because I had had 11 surgeries (including 2 ectopic pregnancy, a perforated bowel which spewed poison through my body and many other intestinal) so I would doubt that you would have adhesions in the same quantity.  The fear with mine was that I don't have a rectum but a sewn pouch made out of my small intestine so the fear is that they could hurt it or the remaining bowel and cause me to have further surgery there.

So far so good.  I do live with a bit of paranoia that I'm getting a cyst on the remaining ovary.  I am feeling the adhesions from this last surgery starting to form and get some pain and pulling in that area.  I have started the ball rolling (see the health pages for how to relieve adhesions) and hope that it will help.

Good luck with your surgery.  We will be anxious to hear how you do.
