Adnexa mass???????????

Hi, I had a 4cm complex mass found in the left adnexa 3 weeks ago and am having another ultrasound tomorrow and then see a Gyno next week. I will be asking the doctor and Gyno this but never really thought about it until the other day, so would like to see on here if anyone has any insight. The doctor told me that the mass isn't inside or attached to the ovary ( my left ovary is 7 times the size it should be), and it isn't in or on the fallopian tube or attached to the uterus. I know the adnexa is can be the area of all these things but I'm told it isn't on or inside any of them. I really wonder then, what exactly is it attached to or growing on or from????? Has anyone else had this? Thanks.

That would be a really good question to ask the tech tomorrow at your ultrasound.  I know sometimes it is hard to see an ovary when the cyst is on it.  Maybe that is what is going on.  Good luck tomorrow!

That does sound odd.  I wonder if it could be a uterine fibroid.  Keep in mind that ultrasounds can't always indicate everything going on.  With me it said I had a 16 cm cyst.  When they operated it was actually a cluster of cysts that had bled together.
