Bilateral ovarian dermoid cyst
I am a 28 year old lady. I got married 1 year back. Now we try to be pregnant. I have regular periods with normal bleeding. Interval is 35-36, having no too much pain.
Recently I took an Ultrasound to check renal function. We were advised a family screening  by a Nephrologist,  because my sister has large calculi in both the kidneys. . My kidney function is normal. But scanning report shows a problem with ovary. Result say “ Right adnexa shows a cystic lesion measuring x 89x45 mm with hyper echoic rounded foci and thin separations with a locule that shows low level echoes. Pheripheral ovarian paranchym noted atht shows few follicles. Left adnexa shows similar lesion with eccentric ovarian paranchyme. Bilateral ovarian dermoid cyst. The ovarian parenchyma noted peripheral to the cysts shows preserved echoes and few fillicles. “
Uterus measures 80x42x37 mm and is normal in size.  Anteverted. Endometrium is normal and measures 13.2 mm. Myometrial echoes are normal. No facal lesions are seen.

Please suggest me the treatment plan. What I have to do?  Will the dermoid cyst cause cancer?  Cyst size is large. Can I give birth to a child?  I want a child. Does there any chance to be pregnant? Is there any problem if I get pregnant.  WILL MY BOTH OVARIES BE REMOVED? I know its result is life time infertility.  I WANT A CHILD.  Please give me a treatment plan. I am not ready to remove my ovary.

Hi,
The bilateral dermoids that you are having are benign or non cancerous tumours mostly. However the treatment will be removal as they are likely to increase in size. Only the cyst is removed and not the complete ovary. Hence both your ovaries can be preserved and you should not have any problem in getting pregnant. Discuss with your Doctor.
Take care and good luck.
