Birth control pills for Ovarian cyst problems

I Have an ovarian cyst problem. Before two years was 3.5 CM I didn't check since then. But what I know is that I'm getting my period for the last six months using birth control pills. after using it for 4 moths I stopped one month and still didn't come by it self.  But when I saw another doctor she told me that it's not good to take it for such a long time. It will make my body lazy to produce its own hormones. My question is: Can't I depend on the pills until some circumstances gets right which may take couple of years, and get a proper check-up. I'm over-weighted by 10 KG by the way. Hope you consider my case...thanks

If you have an ovarian cyst and it hasn't resolved itself within a few months you need to have it removed.  Cysts can affect your periods which could be why it didn't come when you stopped and can contribute to your weight problem.  And, I disagree (I am not a doctor though) with the doctor that says you should not take birth control for such a long time.  From what you are saying it has only been about 6 months on the pills.  Many women take them for years.  I took them for 15 years and no problems.  

Please have your cysts taken care of.

Ditto for me and the pills. I was on them for 11 years and I've never heard that 6 months is excessive..

And I think Trudie is right...They need to be removed. You don't want to have cysts for years ...
