CA 125

I have a ca 125 OF 20 with a test range from 1-16.3.  The dr. found no cysts on my ovaries. Should i still be worried?

I'm confused as well. The usual criteria is under 35. However, some labs may use different values.  I'm going to agree with CherBH. What has your physician advised?

One thing to keep in mind ; CA-125 results are not that reliable in premenopausal women . There are a lot of other things that can elevate the results.. Infection, endometriosis, even pregnancy. There are women with low numbers that have OVCA , and then there are many women that have higher numbers with no cancer at all. The CA-125 is primarily used in women already dx. with OVCA to monitor how the treatment is working. The test is a bit more reliable in postmenopausal women.You don't indicate how old you are. . All this to say; the American Cancer Society does not recommend using the CA-125 as a screening tool in the absence of other symptoms...So I wouldn't worry unnecessarily..

When they do mine, if I remember correctly... I believe it said the normal values were under either 32 or 35. So, based on that, I would say you probably have no reason to be concerned about it. Just my opinion though.
