Collapsed ovary

Hi,

Today i had an ultra sound as ive been having alot of abdominal pain and pain in my left side where my ovary is.

The doctor that done my ultra sound said it looks like i have a collapsed ovary.

Can you please tell me what a collapsed ovary is? Iv'e never heard of this before.

funny enough iv had the same scare this year n my heart stopped wen the doc mentioned it. i actually felt sick bcs she never mentioned cysts or polops or anythin. just a slight deformity she said!!!
i am now on hormone tabs n have another ultra sound soon.
still not sure myself wats goin on.
but this sight has helped me alot x x x

Hi,

He didnt say anything about a cyst. He just said whats my pain between 10 and i said around a 8 - 9 and he said yeah it looks like i have a "collapsed ovary" & that is all. so i'm freaking out! bcos i dont know what that means.

Ive heard of cyst's on the ovary that have collapsed, or depressed, or burst,

Unless thats what he meant but he should have said it looks like a cyst thats collapsed, not just to say it looks like i have a collapsed ovary!

I have not heard of a collapsed ovary before.  I too am wondering if they meant a collapsed ovarian cyst.
