Complex Ovarian Cyst Growth

I am 54 and not quite post-menopausal.

I have a complex ovarian cyst on my right and a minimally-complex ovarian cyst on my left. The cyst on the right ovary was 5 cm when first detected and 20 days later is 8 cm. The left ovarian cyst grew but not as much percentage-wise as the right.

I also have 2 large fibroid tumors(?).

I am scheduled for a complet hystorectomy next week. My CA125 was normal.

My surgeon is going to remove the cysts in bags in case they break. If he has concerns when he sees what they look like, he said he will stop the surgery and have me see an oncologist.

Any advice, words of wisdom, or "been there, done that" would be appreciated. I have been trying to educate myself in the past 2 1/2 weeks but I am reading some conflicting information. I have a special-needs 23-year-old son and I am pretty nervous about how my future will affect his.

i don't have any words of wisdom, but i would like to wish you the best of luck.it is good that your CA125 level was normal.
I also have a complex cyst on my ovary and i am waiting for a laparotomy to have it and my ovary removed,which maybe next week or the week after, I have also done as much research as i can, And i have to say like you I have gotten conflicting information, but prepare yourself for the recovery time to be longer than whatever the doctors tell you, and for your movements to be slow. I have two autistic children(varying levels) so I fully understand your concerns about your recovery and your son.
all i can say is do not be scared or too proud to ask for help, you need to think of yourself as well as your son.
