I went to the ER a few days ago because I was having severe abdominal pain. It started when I woke up with an upset stomach, and started to worsen throughout the day. The pain seemed to be radiating from my right lower pelvic region, and spread across my stomach, through my lower back, and down my legs. It hurt to even walk. I was given an ultrasound and informed that I had cyst, I was told to follow up with my gynecologist. I had blood work done and urine specimen was given but I did not receive any results at the hospital. Yesterday I had my appointment with the gynecologist, he informed me that there was blood in my urine, and that my cyst was a complex cyst that needed to be further looked at. He ordered blood work, one of the tests was a C 125, knowing what this test is used for I am very nervous. I have also been nauseous for a few weeks, and for the past few days have felt fatigued. He prescribed an antibiotic regarding the blood in the urine and said it could be a bladder infection. I have been resting for that last few days, but if I try to wlk around to much or do anything strenuous it completely wipes me out. I am only 27, I have 2 children, and if it means anything my grandmother passed away from pancreatic cancer. I am very nervous and am unsure of what to think or do.
HI,
It is a little premature to conclude that it is cancer. CA125 levels are also raised in certain benign conditions like endometriosis. Hence further evaluation will be necessary. Biopsy will help determine the nature of the cyst. Blood in urine mostly is due to bladder infection. The infection and antibiotics can be the reason for extreme fatigue. Hence there is no reason to worry until evaluation is complete.
Take care and good luck.
