Complex cyst on right ovary

by Linny82, Jul 30, 2009 11:00PM
I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion last year, and I had two separate surgeries to embolize my ovarian and pelvic veins. Well my pelvic pain came back about 3 months ago. My doctor ordered a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound and they found a complex cyst on my right ovary. My doctor wants me to continue taking my birth control pills and wait it out. They scheduled another ultrasound for September. I have been having alot of cramping, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and abdominal pain. Ive done alot of research and I am scared because what I have been reading about complex cysts doesn't sound very positive.  I feel like I can't possibly wait 6 more weeks to see if it has decreased in size. Also should I have a CA125 test. I am really scared and not feeling well at all. Can someone give me any suggestions?

In what I have read since I've been involved with this forum, if a cyst has not resolved itself within 2 months it usually doesn't.  Yes, a complex cyst is more concerning and I agree that waiting is a lot to ask, especially with you feeling so badly.  I would insist they do something now or ask for a 2nd opinion.  Please let us know how it goes.  Good luck.

Thanks for the reply!
Well its been two days since they diagnosed me with the complex cyst and my symptoms are getting worse. I called them the day after the diagnosis and told them that the symptoms are getting worse and they just told me to keep taking ibuprofen for the symptoms and that I would have to wait until September for the next ultrasound. Thats not even taking the pain away. I have extreme nausea and extreme cramping (the kind you have with a UTI). My abdomen feels extremely full and heavy. They said I didn't have a UTI when I was diagnosed with the cyst My stomach is extremely swollen. I am waiting for blood test results that I should get Monday. I almost thought that they were early signs of pregnancy, but the urine tests came back negative so they did a pregnancy blood test. Does any one know what could be causing these sympotoms? I am extremely scared and don't feel well. Should a 2cm complex cyst be causing such painful symptoms or does someone else have any suggestions? Thanks...
