Hi,
Amount 4/5 years ago, I had a dermoid cysts, 5cm x 5cm, removed from my left ovary. The doctor informed me before the operation, that it might be cancer (but I think he only did that because he did not know what it was till he was in there). After the operation, I was told that this cyst 'lived' of my left ovary and that I've lost about 80% of my ovary due to this cyst. They showed me pictures of my left and right ovary, and I could not even see my fellopian tube on the left side, it was gone. At this stage being 24, the firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc thing I asked my doctor, was the possibility of falling pregnant with basically 1 tude/ovary. He told me that I might not be able to or I would sruggle alot and might need go for in-vitro. Could that be the case? During my monthly cycle I still feel alot of pain on my left side, could the cyct be back?
Thanks
Danielle
We have found that most womenWomen's way do just fine with one ovary. Within a few months the other one usually picks up the slack and takes over. As well, the remnants of your other ovary will eventually produce hormones. It is possible to get a cyst on the remnant or you may be ovulating there or feeling pain from adhesions. You should get another ultrasound done just to give you some peace of mind. Do check out the health pages (top right) where there is information on ball rolling and adhesions. That may help.
