Does this mean cancer? Please im so scared

Please forgive me for posting here, but I feel I am experiencing OC symptoms and so I thoought I should move this here...
I am so scared, could someone please help me? I am 37 and I have already had a partial hysterectomy in Nov. 2007. I only have my left ovary. I have had serious problems with cysts for ten yrs, beginning with a trip to the ER in 1998 for a ruptured cyst that sent straight into emergency surgery that day to have the cyst removed and two pints of blood from my abdomen. Then for yrs. I spent nights in Er's with pelvic pain due to ruptured cysts, which finally led me to exploratory laprascopy to find I had endometriosis, major scar tissue, my uterus was so messed up my gyno said in 20 yrs. of practice and she was amazing by the way, in all ways -graduate from Duke-said she had never seen anything like it! So, anyway, everything went great and I have not had any pain since. UNTIL! Low and behold 4 nights ago...I knew it...familiar pain....severe! I knew it was a cyst! But, this time I had new symptoms with it. Severe vaginal deep, tugging pain...and when I urinate-w/out burning. And in retrospect, I have had weird symptoms for about 4 mos. now, but chalked it up to age. I am close to 40. I have not been eating much. I am wearing a sz. 0. I have pretty much struggled my whole life to stay a 4. My own Dr. told me if I lost anymore weight I had to find a new Dr....I swore to him I wasn't on a diet! I just get full easily.  I pee constantly...about every 20-30 mnts.  I go from constipation to bouts of diarriahea, major gas, and indigestion.  Okay, so 4 nights ago in the ER the Dr. finds a chocolate cyst, that he thinks to be around a yr. old, good blood flow, 2.6 cm's, with major weblike things all over it and another chocolate cyst underneath it, smaller w/weblike things-spiderweb looking. Like v compartments inside of the cyst. And of course as you all know it is filled w/ blood. I also have three functional clear cysts on my ovary.

He tells me to see my gyno the next day and that I need to have my ovary removed, have a hysterectomy. I said I can't just take antibiotics or something? And he said no. I can't have it drained-"no."

Can someone tell me if these weblike things are excrescences or septations and if this related to cancer? I am so scared. I do not have health insurance right now. And I am in pain.

Thanks sisters!

Sherry

I am having exactly the same symptoms as you.  Due to my family history of cancer I was sent for an MRI scan by my gyn/onc which has shown a large benign dermoid cyst.  I am having a laparoscopy on 26th May to remove my ovary and can't wait to be pain free.

I can't add any more advice than what has already been given.  I just wanted to try and put your mind at rest.  I hope you get the treatment you need as soon as possible.

Cirella, thanks  for taking the time to reply. Yes, oops! I forgot to mention that...I do have endemetriosis. Your right, I had totally forgotten about the weblike structures being scar tissue! Unfortunately, I am still freaked out though that this hemmo cyst has been arounf for almost or at one yr. and another one if formed /attached to it and there is no "wait and see" approach and I am experiencing such severe symptoms, especially the major weight loss. I am pretty scared.

Take care too!

It sounds like you may possibly have endometriosis.  That can show up like web-like images, too.  Either way, get it checked out.  Pain isn't normal.  Try not to worry.  I know it's hard not to but 95% cysts are benign.

Take care

Gail, that was so sweet of you to reply. I can't tell you how anxious I have been awaiting just 1 reply-anything. I will post on the cycst forum-great idea! My gyno who did my previous surgeries is such a gem, she is going to go over my er records for free and tell me her recommendations. And I will go from there. If the pain gets worse before her call, I am going straight to the county hospital ER and bringing all paperwork that can be filled out while there to be signed up for there health insurance program. Your right about the scar tissue, I had forgotten about that. And after reading a lot of cancer stories, it's true, until when and if I have surgery I won't know anything. I pray I will have surgery so I can stop worrying. I hope now that my old gyno is on the case in a way, I have more peace of mind.

Thanks and best wishes and good health to you...btw Gail is my middle name..lol!

Hi Sherry,

I'm not an expert with cysts as I never was aware I had any.  But what you describe as the web-like structures sound more like adhesions from your previous surgery.  They are exactly as you describe, web-like, and stick to various places in your body.  They are scars that form.  Some women have them much worse than others, and they can cause pretty severe pain, as well.

As for the cysts, benign or not, they can cause the same sort of symptoms.  It is all but impossible to tell if they are cancerous or not until surgery is performed, and they are biopsied.  The symptoms you describe do not make it more likely that you have cancer.  However, since you or your doctor cannot be 100% certain, you really do need to have it taken care of sooner rather than later.  I understand with no insurance, you feel like your options are limited.  Perhaps you can check with your current health care giver and see if there are any programs for which you qualify that would allow you to see a gynocologist, or even a gynecological oncologist.  A GYN/ONC specializes in reproductive cancers.  I'm not saying it is likely you have cancer, but if it happened to be, a GYN/ONC has more specialized training and usually has better success in removing as much of it as possible.  But first things first.  You can check with your local health department, as well, to see if there are ways they can get you in to see a regular gynocologist at little or no cost to you.

There are others here who have more experience with cysts and can give you better information than I do about it.  You might also post on this question on the cyst forum.  Best wishes to you.
