Freaking out over Cyst

I went to emergency room last night in extreme pain. Come to find out I have a 3.6 centimeter cyst on my left ovary! I am 29 years old and in good shape. I am freaking out and have never had any kind of surgery before, EVER! I need to know what to expect! I am suppose to start a brand new job Monday and don't need to be out for a long period of time! I know my health is more important, but really need to know what to expect! I'm honestly freaking out and keep thinking this thing is going to burst at anytime. Will I die? Help... Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

You need to relax. Surgery might sound scary but if u think about it it's completely routine. Ovarian cysts are easy to remove and very common. Ur cyst is small and u will probably need laparoscopic surgery but most small cysts go away on their own. It probably won't burst since it's not huge, I had a 12cm one and a 5cm 15 years apart. Just relax and talk to your employer and you should be fine!

I would mention it to your employer.  If they hurt badly enough that you have to have surgery rather than try birth control to shrink (certain types can be at times), expect to be out for a few weeks.  It'd be best to let your employer know as soon as possible that you found out you may need surgery, if you are needing to go that route.
