I found a website thats swears nutrition is the key, but you have to buy the book. the website is ovariancystsnomore.com. I have read everything on this page. The woman who wrote it has tried everything. She wrote the book and put only the stuff that works in it. When I can afford it, I plan on buying the book myself. You should check this site out and read it. it helps you to understand cysts.
Hello girls,
well I've never suffered from ovarian cysts however my sister in law did before her first pregnancy. She had to go through surgery to remove them. The doctor told her to wait about 3 months after surgery to try to get pregnant again... so she did. She got pregnant, had a beautiful girl (now 7 hrs old) but after that the cysts came back.
She realized they were back because she was trying to get pregnant with their second baby two years after.
Anyway, she tells me nutrition is THE key to beat ovarian cysts. So ladies.. let's try to eat less junk food. Right now I am 26 watching my diet but honestly everytime my period comes there is some pain involved usually in my first day. According to everyone's experience... do you think that's a sign?
By the way, this is my first post in this community. I love it, great info. Everyone have a nice weekend. :)
Thank you Sandy for your message! Much appreciated. I will most definitely be sharing any information i receive from the nutritionalist on Tuesday!
Have a good weekend,
Nina
The thing is , that ovarian cysts are a normal part of ovulation. If you didn't ovulate, you wouldn't have cysts but you wouldn't have pregnancies either. If you google "Ovarian Cysts 101", it will explain a lot . There is also a lot of information on our "Health Pages" at the top right of this page.
I sure wish there were some nutritional answers, but I don't think we're going to find any.. If you find an answer, please share !
Sandy
That sounds really painful you poor thing. I only had the one cyst and had two episodes of pain....when my ovary twisted (and a few weeks after op) and today. I didn't realise they can cause constant pain. I really feel for you. I don't know what they called my cyst. I'm hoping it was a one off and am hoping my nutritionalist will be able to advise me on what foods to eat/avoid with regards to ovarian cysts. Have my first consultation next Tuesday. This might be an option for you to? I've thought about taking the pill. I will ask my doctor at my next hospital appointment in December about it.
I know what you are going through. Did they tell you what kind of cysts you have? Mine come during ovulation, and rupture. That leaves fluid in my abdominal cavity, that irritates all the other organs. I feel the pain up in my ribs. If the pain is that bad, go see a ob/gyn. I am unable to take the birth control pill, but it could be a option for you.
Hi there,
I'm really sorry to hear about the constant pain some of you are in due to these cysts. I'm really surprised 'they' haven't found some sort of cure or prevention yet for Ovarian cysts.
I was rushed into hospital in July with really bad abdominable pain and vomitting....the hospital finally found that i had a twisted right ovary caused by a 7cm cyst. They managed to remove most of the cyst (remanants of cyst still there as per my check-up in Sep) and they managed to save the ovary thankfully. I haven't experienced any Ovarian pain since that day it twisted up until now that is. Today i woke up at 6am with right ovarian pain...every 10 seconds i get a shooting pain...it's now 2pm and pain still there. Very odd. It isn't excruitiating, just uncomfortable but just wondered if this is normal and whether or not another cyst could be forming? The doctors didn't given me much information after i left the hospital so i've been left with surfing the internet for info. I've decided to see a Nutritionalist next week as i believe diet can help. My diet wasn't brilliant before the op! Anyway, i'm waffling but it's good to see there is a forum for this. If i find the nutrionalist helpful, i shall post a comment. Good luck to all of you. Nina (32 year old)
I am 25. I have already had one full term pregnancy. My family has never been able to take hormones, so i guess i am just stuck being in pain. Mine never vanish. At least twice a month i have a rupture, which leaves me with only 4 days without pain. I am glad i found this site and other people to talk to about it. My family doesnt understand the pain level involed with cysts.
Hi there,
I too have never heard of anyway of preventing cysts. I had them when I was younger, they usually just resolved but have had them burst and that's no picnic....ouch. I just had my ovaries, uterus and appendix removed because I had suspicious complex cysts on both ovaries... I hope yours resolve and you are pain free.
Good luck
Laney
Unfortunately I haven't heard of anything to "prevent" them either. I had one many years ago and it just vanished. This last time I wasn't so lucky, but it turned out fine. ..
From what I've learned, functional cysts are a common occurence with ovulation, that's why the b.c. pills sometimes work. Otherwise, I don't think there are any answers , at least not yet! .. Hope you feel better though.

Hi there. You haven't filled out your profile so I don't know how old you are. I can't take the piill either as it gives me severe migraines. There isn't anything else definitive that has been proven to work. You might want to try a different hormone ratio pill. I've read some indicators of iodine imbalance but it has not been proven. Unfortunately we have to wait and see what happens. I have a friend who had two episodes of cysts with surgery and then nothing more and went on to have two successful pregnancies.
