I'm not sure if you can read my previous posts through my profile, so if not, feel free to ask any questions you need to help me. I went to my gynecologist on Friday for a 3 month follow-up appointment. I brought with me the two ultrasound reports and one CT report I got from my familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources and ER doctors after having two cysts ruptureAortic rupture, chest x-ray Ruptured eardrum Tracheal/bronchial rupture and after having nausea and pelvicKegel exercises Pelvic adhesions Pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) Pelvic laparoscopy Prostatitis - nonbacterial Uterine prolapse pain for several weeks. The latest ultrasound (from early January) showed a 10mm cyst on my ovary, which I know is normalNormal saline flush depending on where a person is with their cycle. The only answers my gynecologist gave me was that I will need to be on my birth controlControl Control rx pill until I'm into my 50s unless I want to have kids, and in that case, I will need to get back on them the month after giving birth. Does that sound like proper treatment? I just am not too fond of the side effects and cost of these pills that I have have to take for the next 30 years! He told me the cyst was normalNormal saline flush and never mentioned having another scan to see if it went away (I still have pain and nausea nearly every day). He said he can't help with my nausea or migraines and that the pills are not the cause of it (they are progesterone only pills), so it won't hurt anything to remain on the pill. I'm just not sure if I should seek a second opinion or continue taking my birth control pills for the next 30 years. Any advice is appreciated... thanks!
I forgot to mention that I had a couple days of spotting this month and was supposed to get my period a little over a week ago. My birth control pills list spotting as a side effect, but this is my fourth month on the same pill and it hasn't been a problem until this month. My doctor didn't think anything of it...
