Had a Dermoid cyst removed 3 weeks ago...

I had a left overian pain causing dermoid 75cm x 45 cm cyst removed 3 weeks ago by laparoscopy.   Thankfully, benign.  But the larger of the incisions (about one inch) used to remove the cyst, has healed together so my skin is now attached to my fascia, causing pain, tightness and pulling.  Has anyone ever had this happen?  The incision is completely puckered in so I can't even see it if I am looking down at my pelvis.  The surgeon claims it happened because I am thin and had no fat layer between the skin and fascia.  But it seems like it was stitched together, improperly.  I did not know this was a risk of this surgery..  I am now faced with having another surgery to attempt to separate the layers to try to reduce the pain and tightness... and hopefully allow me to stand up straight without pain.     I am literally attached at the hip!

I have just been told i have a 7cm dermoid cyst and have to have op soon , although have to wait 2 months what a joke hey?
I am soooo scared even though docs say its nothing nasty like ( cancer ) to worry about but they have not done a biopsy on it so how would they know for sure as i have read dermoid cysts still have a low chance of being cancerous???
I am also sooo afraid of the surgery, they said it should be via key hole but cant promise.
Is recovery bad?
Help i am scared Xxx

I had a dermoid that was 9cm x 5cm and I had the same problem with the larger of the 5 incisions they made in my surgery, it was the incision that they used to insert the catheter. In any case, my scar felt like that for awhile but with vitamin E massaged into the scar when it had closed up, it helped to 'release' the wound that felt as though it was attached to my fascia and puckered. In the end, it ended up being fine. I say just give yourself time to heal and use vitamin E.

Um, in my rushing through my post, I accidentally forgot the periods.  The cyst was only 7.5 cm x 4.5 cm.  Sorry, for the confusion.  It's good to hear other people have had problems such as this, because my doctor told me she has never seen the incision of the fascia and skin heal attached together like that, NICE, I know, thanks!   But I am seeing another surgeon to see if it can be detached, mainly because it because the pulling is affecting how i stand, walk etc...  At this point I could care less about the ugly scar, just want to be able to move freely...

I had laprascopic dermid cyst removed one week ago. Yours was 75 cm that is big, does sound like you need to see surgeon again, maybe plastic surgery?
my cyst was small 3.5 cm but my recovery has been so rough. this forum a great support. My incision below my belly button is hard underneath and 2 giant red patches 3 -4 inches across. my stomach. my doctor looked at them and gave me antibiotics which don't seem to be working. Any redness on yours? I wonder how common infected incision sites are.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about this pain and tightness.  Kiddingly, I'd like to donate as many layers of fat as you'll need to reduce the tightness.
Look into deep tissue medical massage.  It has helped my mastectomy scar a lot.  They gradually (and sometimes not so gradually) stretch the tissue until it breaks (when it does, it doesn't hurt.)
Good luck.
