I resently had a laparotomy to remove what the ultrasound described as being a solid right mass measuring 52mm. Cyst adenoma being the most likly cause of the appearance. After the surgery i was told that 2 small cysts were removed
One a Follicular cyst and the other a corpus luteum. Im trying to understand why what was said to be there was in fact not?
Hi,
I don't know how something so large would turn into a follicular cyst and a corpus luteum cyst. These are normalNormal saline flush cysts for womenWomen's way of child bearing age. I do know, that manytimes cysts do just resolve themselves, which could be the case of your large cyst and the 2 normalNormal saline flush cysts developed just recently before you had surgery. I would ask for the operation report just to be sure everyone is on the same page. How many times did you have scans or ultrasounds to see the large cyst?

I had a ultrasound and trans vaginal, I think thats what they call it, at the end of march and saw a gynecologist that same week. He stated that I had a mass that appeared to have a suspicious appearance. I booked into hospital, but due to a long waiting list decided it would be better and quicker to be closer to home at the local hospital. My doctor then referred me to a gynecologist closer to home. I saw him about 20th April and he book me in to have a Laparoscope for the 5th of May, but instead, performed a laparotomy. He was guided by the original images. I received a Histopathology report, if this is what your referring to as an operation report.
Thanks again for listening.
