Human inside a human?

Hi, I am only 17 years old and I was recently diagnosed with dermoid ovarian cyst. I am really confused. It is about 16 cm above my left ovary and all the 4 doctors that examined my case says it's probably malignant and I have to undergo a surgical operation. They will have to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube but if during the operation it ruptured then both ovaries must be removed. Are there any cases the same with mine? Are there any other option to prevent the removal of any of my ovaries?

Because a dermoid has solid components I can see it being misinterpreted.  Good luck with everything.

yes, my doctor is a gyn/onc. In my last ultrasound, they ruled out malignancy and my doctor is hopeful that it is a dermoid cyst. Are there a lot of cases that dermoid cyst are being misinterpreted as malignant?

It is rare that a dermoid is malignant.  Is the doctor doing your surgery a gyn/onc?  If there is a concern about malignancy you should have a gyn/onc do the surgery or at least be on call to do a frozen section during the surgery.  Get a second opinion if required.  If the cyst were malignant they would likely give you a complete hysterectomy.  You need to ask important questions about why they would not remove all if malignant and perhaps have them harvest eggs for your future fertility.
