I'm sure we all know how you feel. I'm going through something similar right now.
I can't get any definitive answers and the waiting is nothing short of cruel.
Know that cysts in pre-menopausal women are 95% of the time benign.
Ovarian cysts are much more common that any of us realized until we actually got one.
:)
The blood test CA125 is not reliable due to your age. It could have elevated levels for a number of reasons so try not to focus on that too much. I think its all routine and part of the process to have it done.
Many women develop cysts routinely that go away on their own in 1-3 months time.
Its a common problem, that is not well known and is very scarey when it happens to you. Try reading some of the Health Pages. There is a link at the top right of this page.
Don't surf the internet for information. There is a lot of **** out there!
If you do have surgery, you will have the peace of mind knowing that it will be sent to the lab for pathology and you will get confirmation on what exactly it was.
Lots of women here have had the surgery.A friend of mine recently had a 19cm cyst removed! 6 weeks later and she's back and work and feeling great!
Don't be afraid to ask you doctor questions! Ask him straight up -
- What type of cyst does it appear to be?
- What are the treatment options?
- What are the risks involved in the treatment options, if any?
Be sure to let him know that this is causing you a great deal of worry. Perhaps ask for something to help you at bedtime like Ativan or something.
Keep us posted.
Best wishes for you.

The blood test will not determine if you have ovca. Only pathology can give that dx. If the dr. is giving you the ca125....please keep in mind that it is not a reliable test for premenopausal women. Although 99% of ovarian cysts are benign, since the cyst is over 5cm, your dr should remove it laproscopically and run the pathology on it. Please keep us posted.

thank you for the advice as of now the only thing that i know is its an ovarian cyst and they need series of test they get a blood sample on me for the test if it is cancerous. i just go to the doctor this day.. and i need to comeback again for the result on 29... ahh i am worried cause they dont tell me what kind of cyst it is...
Someone else will come along that is more knowlegeable than I, but since you are obviously not menopausal, they might try reducing it with progesterone supplements and check to see if that works, before they consider surgery. I am not sure about the size and you don't say what kind of cyst it is? Did they tell you simple, complex, anything like that? If you have more information, the women on here can help you better. Hang in there!
