I'm scared! What's going on?

Hi,

I've been having a weird dull achy pain in my pelvis area. I also feel like there's constant pressure on my bladder, and I feel like I have to go a lot. I don't have an STD, a UTI, pregnancy or BV- I already got checked. I  had my first shot of Depro in October, didn't have my second one, had my period for 2 weeks in January, and haven't had one since. My doctor suggested that because my period has been delayed, I might have a cyst or that an imbalance of hormones  might be causing the delay of my period, and that might be why I feel the ache/ pressure. She wants to put me on the Pill now. I'm worried about having interstitial cystitis. She gave me an anti-biotic, but I've been on it for almost three days and I'm not really responding...

So what I'm really wondering if it would be effective treatment to go on the Pill or not, or if it could be possibly be something else...?

(thanks soooo much!!)

I was recently diagnosed with an oavarian cyst. I felt the same way you do plus alot of pain in the right side of my back. I went to the ER because the pain was intense. With a CT scan, a pelvic ultrasound, X-rays, the drs. were able to see cysts on my right ovary. Please have the pelvic ultrasound done, It was uncomfortable, not painful, and I wish I would have went sooner than I did!!!

Is your pelvic pain located left side or right? Or is it all across lower pelvic area? I had a localized pain on my right side,But i guess it can be either areas but mine was right side. I had ignored it for about a year before i woke up one night with terrible pain. My husband wanted me to go to ER but i rode it out and then saw my dr. She had said something had twisted (Ovary?) I also had alot of bladder pressure too and  was going alot! I had a ultra sound that showed a mass in my enlarged uteris, it was the size of a grapefriut. I would not take any chances and would have a ultrasound if only for your own piece of mind.

I also had some dull aching pain in my pelvis which turned out to be cysts..you need to have a sonogram which will see exactly what is going on...good luck. Gia :)

I'm certainly no expert.  A lot of the other ladies here would be able to help out much more than me.
But - I'd ask my doctor if some tests need to be done.  An ultrasound perhaps - to see if there is a cyst.  That would be where I'd start at the least.
Take care and I hope you feel better soon

Before you start any hormone treatment it might be wise to have a good pelvic and a trans vaginal ultrasound  to visulize the pelic area for any cysts, an imbalance of estrogen can cause some tissues to change in make up.
