Is it OK to wait for 3 months? US report enclosed

Hi All,

Here is my US report. My docotr is asking me to wait for three months and get another US done. Is it OK to wait? Will the complex cyst go away by it self? Here is my US result.

Waiting to hear from you all.

Thanks,
A.Shah

Transabdominal and endovaginal pelvic
sonograms were obtained. The uterus measures 8.9 x 4.4 x 6.2 cm
and demonstrates slightly heterogeneous echotexture, without
definite focal mass. Endometrial stripe thickness is 0.2 cm. No
intrauterine fluid collection is evident.

The right ovary measures 2.5 x 1.7 x 2.5 cm and contains a simple
appearing cyst or follicle measuring 1.3 cm. The left ovary
measures 3.0 x 1.3 x 1.9 cm and is visualized endovaginally only.

Within the left ovary, there is a 1.7 x 1.1 x 0.8 cm complex
cystic area, one portion containing low level internal echoes
and the other showing a simple cystic configuration measuring 0.9
cm. There also appears to be a 0.6 cm simple appearing left
paraovarian cyst separate from the left ovary in the left adnexal
region. No other adnexal mass or free pelvic fluid is seen.

No, my doctors has not asked me to do any blood test and i was asked to take pain medication if the pain is unbearable (which occurs in the week before my period is due and during the week of my periods). Here is my CT scan report....I am confused when I compared my CT and US report because one says I have complex cyst on right and other says it is on left...any idea why would it be like this?

CT Scan Report

3.6 cm complex right ovarian cyst that is probably
a hemorrhagic cyst.  2.1 cm left-sided ovarian cyst present.
Images through the spleen, liver, adrenals, pancreas, kidneys
within normal limits.  No abnormally dilated bowel loops, free
fluid.

IMPRESSION:
1. Scattered colonic diverticula without definitive evidence of
diverticulitis.
2. Bilateral complex ovarian cysts, measuring up to 3.5 cm on the
right that are probably hemorrhagic cysts.  Followup sonogram is
suggested in 6-10 weeks to insure resolution.

I am surprised they would wait with so much going on but would advise that you pay attention to your body and if you have any increase in pain or symptoms that you insiste they move it up.

I think since your cysts are of a small size, you can wait as advised by your doctor.

What did your doctor ask you to do in the meantime? Did your doctor advise you for any blood tests?
