Is this pain normal 2 weeks after ruptured cyst?

I am 38 and had my first ruptured ovarian cyst back a little over 2 weeks ago. It showed on a CAT scan. The pain at the beginning was excruciating and the bloating was very uncomfortable. The bloating subsided and the pain seemed almost gone after about 10 days. However, now the pain is coming back and it is all in my lower abdomin. It is most painful when when I empty my bladder or have a bowel movement. It is now a constant dull pain - more so on my right, but generally all over the lower abdomin. I also get sharp pains when I first sit down or even cough.

I saw my OB/GYN last Thursday (about 9 days after the rupture, but before the increase in pain started. I still had some pain when I saw her, but not as much as now). She said the pain should get better each day and will be gone in another week or so. She said she couldn't tell how big the cyst was that ruptured because there was no before picture and it was just a matter of time until the fluid and cyst were absorbed by my body.  She scheduled me for a follow up ultrasound in late March, but I am getting worried because I have increased pain. My period started when the cyst ruptured so I doubt my increased pain could be ovulation (I have really long cycles too so I don't think that is it).

Is increasing pain normal after 2 weeks?

Don't know if you are still watching this thread, but wondering how things resolved for you?  I am in a similar situation at the moment and would be interested in hearing how you are doing and what happened with your pain and if it finally resolved on its own?

I've not had a ruptured cyst but it definitely seems like yours is not following what I have heard or the protocol your doctor laid out.  I'm wondering if another cyst is already forming.  Do you have a fever?  If you do you should not wait to get checked out as perhaps you have an infection.  Good luck.
