Laparascopy - did you have to bowel cleanse?

Just seeing how many of you had to do a bowel cleanse before laparascopy surgery.

I know it shouldn't be a big deal but I remember how hard it was to get that stuff down for my last surgery so I'm pretty nervous about it this time.

At my last appointment, he told me I wouldn't have to do it but then he changed his mind :(

I just had laparoscopic surgery to remove an ovarian cyst on my right ovary, which had become twisted. I did not have to bowel cleanse - just not eat anything for 12 hours.

Yes.. It's really for your own good..The left ovary especially sits alongside the lower bowel ... They jostle things around in there and you certainly want as "clean" a field as possible...

It helps if you chill the "stuff" and mix with ginger ale .. I've also heard gator ade.. I try to just chug it down.. the slower I went , the harder it was to get it down ..

Good luck...
