Laparotomy and exercise?

I had a laparotomy on Dec 6. I'm amazed how well I feel just 9 days later. Prior to surgery, I walked/ jogged about 3 miles in the morning, 3 days per week. I know I still tire a little bit easily when doing light things around the house. I am curious to learn how soon after surgery others began walking? I live on a circle, and the weather has been gorgeous for Dec in WI. The circle is just over a 1/4 mile. Wondering how soon it would be safe to start out walking the circle? I'll ask my doctor on Monday during my follow up, but looking for feedback from someone with experience.

I walked 2 days after surgery.  Walking is fine, I wouldn't run quite yet though.  Your body will let you know if you overdo it.
