Left Side Ovarian Pain

The last 8 months or so my periods have either skipped months at a time or have been ridiculously heavy or just straight up make me sick. The last few months I've had problems with dizziness, light headed, headaches, fatigue, sharp pains, palor, hot and cold flashes, nausea and vomiting, etc.

I've always had painful and irregular periods so at first it didn't bother me. But when the pain changed from normal cramps to feeling like it was my Fallopian tube or ovary I got a little freaked out. One thing that helped with pain before was pushing on the ovary area. The only way I'm comfortable is sleeping either on my stomach or on my side with a pillow under my left ovary. Last month I got worse. I passed out, puked and just straight up couldn't think or stand right. If I got up I had to sit down, it just wasn't good. Last month I was pushing on my ovary before my period started to relieve the pain and after a while it felt like something popped. The ovary didn't feel as large as it did before. If it was a cyst they can be normal so if it popped it whatever and good riddance. But within a few minutes I started bleeding heavily. The time from that happening to the bleeding makes me wonder if the cyst was filled with blood.

I saw a gyno and he said I had an ultrasound last year so there was no need to do another one. That time they were looking for a dislodged IUD and couldn't find it with a regular ultrasound. When they did a vaginal they had to push down on my ovary to even find it. They did find the IUD was slightly out of place but told me to pull it out which ended up being a lot more difficult than it should have. The vaginal ultra sound was really painful and I puked in front of the radiologist. Last month when the gyno did the pelvic exam I got dizzy, started shaking and twitching and thought I might puke. It was also painful.

He told me to come back if the symptoms got worse, patted me on the back and gave me a card to track my period even though at the beginning of the appointment I offered to let him see the app on my phone where I'd been tracking my period and symptoms for the last year. Now this month I'm a week late on my period, I don't really have substantial pain yet, just dull aching. I've had a fever for about 5-6 days now. My regular temp is 95-97 and the fever was only 99.8 at my regular doctors check up. Last night it got up to 100.9 and its down to 100.7 this morning, thankfully. However I had some pain in my ovary and I pushed down. I can still only feel my left one, the right I can't even really feel. When I pushed down it felt like my ovary stuck to my abdominal lining or something and still feels that way. It made me baby barf in my mouth. The pain I do have, and had last month, is also in my lower back, shoulders, neck, head and sometimes my left thigh.

Am I just being over dramatic and hormonal with the flu or should I go to a different gyno? I'm afraid to go to someone again because it was really humiliating the last time. I didn't feel like he took me seriously and he treated me like I was just being over dramatic and like the pain wasn't that bad. I don't really know what to do right now. My period still hasn't started and there's not a ton of pain. I want to wait and see if they pain is worse this time but even if it is I'm not sure if the hospital is necessary. Opinions?

My moods are horrible as well! I started young as well. My mom is saying I just have the flu but it my temp gets worse I'm going to the hospital regardless. It's 101.1 so that's lovely. I'm so glad your pain is at least a bit better now and that you got a good doctor to help!

Thanks for your response, Anna!(:

Definitely go see someone else! I have the same issues with my period; cramping, nausea, dizziness, headaches and whole lot of pain to the point where I think I wanna get everything removed. I did an ultrasound which showed a fibroid which was about 4cm in size. I have severe joint pains and eccentric mood swings. My period is pretty regular but not clockwork regular. I have been having these issues since the 5th grade and I never actually went to see someone about it until I realized people actually have ZERO pains.....that was new! That was a couple months ago.

My gyno was MOST understanding and tried everything to make me comfortable. He gave me a referral for a radiologist and gave me pills for the pain each month. He also gave me tips that could help with the pain. You need to seek more assistance because clearly something is happening and your doctor should be there to help and make you feel safe. :-)

Peace and Love,
Anna
