Lower Right Pelvic Pain

A few months ago I started having pains where I would believe my right ovary to be. I do occasionally get ovualtion pain on the right side but it goes away within a day or two. Also when I was pregnant with my daughter I had a similar pain, not as intense and on the ultrasound there was a small cyst. It went away by the second months ultrasound. This pain is similar. Its a little bit more painful, I also have lower back pain and some pain that radiates down my right leg. I went to the gyno and she did a pelvic exam and said she couldn't feel any masses and everything seemed fine. My urine test while there had white blood cells so she said it was an UTI and that was why I had the pain. I saw a URO for the UTI and I ended up not having one. I still have the pain. Could she have missed a cyst? What else could be causing this pain? I don't even know where to go from here!?

You may have sciatica- the nerve is tucked into the pelvis before it runs down the buttock and the leg.  That is what I am betting on... (-:  I am having similar symptoms, but I had back surgery as a teen 20 years ago, and am hoping that this is correlated, and I need to strengthen my core.  Makes me worry though if it is something else.  Did you ever find out?  When is it in relation to your menses?  Mine has just finished, unsure what that means...

Can an ovarian cyst cause flank pain? I thought I hat an UTI that was turning into a kidney infection and that was causing me some flank pain. Now I had an ultrasound of my bladder and kidneys and everything looked good. Just saw that my bladder did not completely empty?

So I still am having some flank pain on and off and was wondering if a cyst could cause this?!

Hi Bri a small cyst of 2 cm can cause some people pain! And at the same time a large cyst of 10 cm or more might cause less pain! Crazy I know. Ur doc may hav missed a smaller cyst, the symptoms u describe are very much like what someone with a cyst describes so go back & ask for an ultrasound scan!
Was it just the one small cyst when u were pregnant? Or was it several (PCOS)
Functioning cysts are pretty run of the mill because we all get them and they disappear on there own but sometimes they don't & that's when the crap starts! If they do find a cyst they will suggest u either "wait and see" or birth control to see if that reduces it? Or surgery but that is the last option anyway don't be worried about hurting ur Docs feelings! Ask and ask until u r sure in ur mind that the diagnosis that u have been given feels right ! Take care from K :-)

Yea I think  I need to find another gyno. Sigh. No I really dont have any other symptoms. My menstrual cycle is normal. I do have some gastritis but had that awhile ago and it is under control as long as I watch what I eat.

Could she have missed one during a pelvic exam?

This could be caused by a cyst.  They really should order up another ultrasound.  Do you have any other symptoms?  Any changes to your menstrual cycle?  You need to get some answers!  Stand up for yourself!
