Maybe a silly question!!

Can you get an endometrioma cyst if you have had a hysterectomy?

Yes you most certainly can.  If the endometriosis was contained in the uterus, then the answer would be NO, but if it went outside of the uterus on the cervix or ovaries, you can.

Hi! Here's all I know.... I have an endometrioma. It is on the ovary. So, as far as I know, since endometrioma's are in or on the ovary, you cannot have one if you've had a hysterectomy. That being said, maybe there are partial hysterectomies done that don't remove both ovaries, so then there could be a cyst. But that is a guess! I would look up hysterectomies. If there are partial ones done leaving behind an ovary, then an endimetrioma would be possible. Hope that helps, but that is just a guess :)
