I have previously posted about a pain in my left side that was unknown. Originally I had a small functional cyst on both ovaries, and the doctor told me to do a check up in 3 months (that was 3 months ago). I had extreme pain in the left ovary and it was said that the cyst ruptured. I sought a second medical opinion and that doctor told me it was all in my headHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury. I have suffered with this for over 11 years (since I was 15) and had 3 laparoscopicGallbladder removal Gynecologic laparoscopy surgeries and 1 laparotomy on top of a completeComplete Complete a-z Complete allergy Complete natal Complete premium Complete senior Complete-rf molar pregnancy, so needless to say I was extrememly offended. I then went to a G.I. doctor to rule out that my digestive system was causing the immense pain I'm in. I don't have an appetite, I feel full when I do eat, I have pressurePressure ulcer/pain on my bladder, and the pain has been shooting through to my back for the past month. I have no feverAllergic rhinitis Coccidioidomycosis Febrile seizures Fever Fever blister Fever blisters and canker sores Herpes labialis (oral herpes simplex) Histoplasmosis Malaria Rheumatic fever Scarlet fever whatsoever. I had an ultrasound yesterday, and the tech told me there is a very large complex cyst on my left ovary and I needed to see my doctor as soon as possible, but the right ovary was fine now. I have called and left two messages and no one has called me. I still have no results from my ultrasound or the tests that were run at the G.I. doctor because no one has called me back. I feel like I'm going crazy, I am in SO much pain, and no one seems to be taking me seriously. I know that the doctor is there to take care of you, but I also don't want to harass my doctor. I know something is wrong with my body, I can feel it. I've also made an appointment with an oncologist, which numerous people have recommended (other than my doctor). Does anyone have any words of advice on this situation? I have no children and cannot get pregnant until December due to the molar pregnancy. I have also been on the pill since I was 15, and the doctor doubled my dosage which has done nothing.
An oncologist is a good start.....is this a gynecologist/oncologist (preferred)? What you need is someone that specializes in femaleCondoms Female condoms Female sexual dysfunction pelvic disorders. I doubt you will get much use from a GI doctor right now. Complex cysts often need to be removed.
I wanted to comment on your situation. I too have a very large complex mass on my right ovary. They found it on October 15 when I went to the emergency room for what I thought was an appendicitis attack. I have had numerous surgeries for endometriosis including a hysterectomy. They left in the right ovary and I am regretting it, despite the benefit of not having to have hormone replacement treatment. I am 40 years old.
Anyway, at first, the dr's wanted to take out the mass (and ovary of course) but then they thought it would come with too many complications surgically and somehow, after 2 days of inpatient pain management, they sent me home and said to come back for repeat US in 8 weeks. Monday, the pain got out of control again (it had subsided after 7 days of pain meds) and I am back on lots of pain meds and getting so frustrated.
I feel so compromised. I am trying to go about everyday life...going to work, caring for my two children, my husband, and yet, I feel like ****. I am constipated, bloated, feel pain when I am walking, sitting, laying down, basically when I do anything. I can't be intimate, I am resentful when my husband and son go work out even! In August, I participated in a 3 day 60 mile walk for Breast cancer, and now, I can barely walk from one room to the next.
So, while I think my mass isn't cancerous, I feel like it's taking over my life! I really want to get a second opinion, so if there are any people who read this who know of a good dr in the midwest, preferably Michigan, please let me know. I also would love to hear from other women who have this situation. I don't know how much longer I can take this. I may end up back in the emergency room soon...
